1 out of 5 stars What a disappointment!   August 11, 2010

I bought this dvd player only 3 months ago, despite the warnings from other purchasers. I should have listened to all the negative feedback! On the 90th day of my 90 day warranty, the machine stopped working. Disks slide off the tray and disappear inside the player. Now the player says nothing but "NO DISK" even when there are perfect disks in the tray. I used to purchase only SONY products, but those days are gone! I am so disappointed! I paid $85 for this product, brand new from a retailer. SONY is covering the unit, through today (90th day), but I have to pay to ship it back, at almost half the price of the unit brand new. So I'll get another unit just like this one that might last another 90 days, if I'm lucky. What's the point? I should have just bought a more expensive unit from another manufacturer!

5 out of 5 stars SONY - once again a fine product   August 10, 2010
Christopher Gordon (Southern Cal)
I often buy SONY when I'm looking for an electronics component since I usually find them to be of high quality and reliability. I had a SONY upscaling DVD player for single disc play and it was okay but I desired one with multi-disc capability, hence this purchase. This model has all the features I need plus it was on sale at Amazon. I've had it for a week and have used it extensively, if I have a problem with reliability later I'll edit this review and report it. I like the fact I can leave in discs that I haven't completed and put in new ones to view. It does make a bit of a clattering noise while changing discs. Hook up was easy, sound and video options are plentiful. I have a SONY Dolby/DTS sound system and this changer works with that just fine. The video quality is outstanding, along with my 32" SONY widescreen TV, this DVD model is a fine addition to my system.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product< Worth Every Penny!!!!   July 29, 2010

This is A great upscale dvd player. I brought this one to replace my previous model which only upscaled to 1080i and was pleasently surprised at the picture quality. It is easy to hook up and operate and looks stylish. Looking for an upscale changer, this is the one!!!

I had one just like it for 4 years and I got thousands of hours of use out of it, I was satisfied enough to buy the exact same model DVD player again.

2 out of 5 stars Player Stopped Working After 8 Months   July 19, 2010
James J. Yakovich (Lorain, Ohio)
After 8 months this dvd player stopped working. It would display Loading... for 20 seconds then skip to the next disc. This doesn't happen every time but most of the time. Sony told me it must be serviced and the only service center they have is in Texas. They also refused to replace it even though it is less than a year old.

My advice is don't buy this product.

James
